Quinn attended Rudston Junior School in Childwall and Gateacre Comprehensive School, Liverpool. He described his school life as “humming his favourite songs in the corner of the playground whilst all the other lads would be playing football or other things that teenagers would get up to.” Quinn went on to study Performing Arts at Merseyside Dance and Drama College for a three year course where he completed two years before joining The X Factor finals.
In March 2009 Ray won Dancing On Ice, beating Jessica Taylor and Donal MacIntyre in yesterday’s final. Ray and his partner Maria Filippov scored an unprecedented two rounds of perfect 6.0s for their routines to Take That’s ‘Greatest Day’ and Starship’s ‘Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now’. As he accepted his victory, Ray said: “It’s a dream come true. I’m absolutely speechless. I’ve been dreaming of this moment since the beginning.”
Ray will be performing on the Dancing On Ice Tour before hitting the West End as Danny in Grease.
