Joe Oakley appeared on this year’s Britain’s Got Talent with a bike act that displayed an incredibly high level of skill and balance.
Joe’s specific discipline is mountain bike trials riding, which is the discipline of mountain biking in which the rider attempts to pass through an obstacle course without setting foot to ground.
Joe started riding when he was 10 years old, initially just for fun, but later started entering small competitions before moving to National level, where in 2005, he became British Champion. After this he naturally progressed to the International scene and has been lucky enough to travel to many different countries to compete for Great Britain.
In 2009 in Canberra, Australia he became World Junior Men’s Trials Champion. And now ranked as a senior, Joe is currently rated ninth in the world and hoping for a top 10 place in the World Cup seniors.
In the summer he travels all around the country performing at shows and events.
