Laura White gives schools The X Factor

Laura White gave an inspirational performance to pupils at a Sunderland School. The singer impressed children and teachers at Sandhill View School, Grindon Lane, with her amazing talent.

The former The X Factor contestant was in the city to take part in the comprehensive school’s creativity week.

After singing her new single You Should Have Known, she posed for photos with the pupils and answered questions about her passion for music.

Headteacher Richard Bain said: “Laura approached us and asked if we would like to perform and it suited us because we are a performing arts school.

“Her voice was very good and the pupils received her very well. They asked a lot of questions and they all wanted their photograph taken with her afterwards.”

The normal lesson structure has been changed this week at Sandhill to encourage as many children as possible to take up a creative activity.

Laura is a face and name many of the youngsters recognise from the TV and she has taken a creative path they can aspire too.

To end creativity week the students will pull their creative experiences together to perform a carnival on Friday afternoon.
