Joe McElderry -- Don’t Stop Believing (X Factor).
The winner of The X Factor 2009, Joe McElderry has a long future ahead of him.
Joe, born in South Shields, developed a strong bond on the show with mentor Cheryl Cole and it was no surprise to those that saw his audition that he ended up going all the way and winning the competition.
His cover of The Climb (the winner’s song) went to number one in the UK charts and, at just 20, the only way is up for Joe.
Since leaving The X Factor, he has embarked on a nationwide tour with all the contestants, while also being busy in the studio.
Joe’s debut album, Wide Awake, was released in October 2010, following on from the single ‘Ambitions’, which flew into the charts at number six.
On top of this, the track ‘There’s A Place For Us’ features on the soundtrack of the film The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
In 2011 Joe showcased another string to his bow as he was crowned champion of ITV1 series Popstar to Operastar following a string of highly impressive performances.
On the back of the show, Joe released his second album, Classic. Reaching number two in the charts, the LP underlined Joe’s versatile quality.
Not a bad CV for someone so young…
