Initially entering The X Factor auditions as solo artists, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zain Malik and Louis Tomlinson were handed a lifeline as they grouped together to form One Direction.
The group impressed Simon Cowell at the judge’s house and the teenage quintet were put through to the live stages.
The line-up boasts strong vocals, dancing ability and, of course, good looks.
They quickly became a huge hit amongst the girls and debut single What Makes You Beautiful flew straight in at number one in the UK charts.
Since their time on the show, the boys have become ambassadors for Pokemon while being extremely busy writing and recording their debut album.
