Actress Gemma Merna is famed for her role as Carmel McQueen in Channel 4′s hit soap, Hollyoaks.
Since first appearing in the soap in 2006, Gemma has been nominated for numerous awards including the National Television Awards for ‘Best Female Soap Actress’. In 2007 she scooped the coveted British Soap Award for ‘Best Comedy Performance’.
The Manchester born actress, who is regularly featured in the UK press has proven to be an all-round talent, from award winning acting performances to numerous presenting appearances including last year’s Children In Need.
Adding to her list of talents, Gemma trained as a dancer before landing her major TV role with Hollyoaks. Various TV shows that Gemma has taken part in include ‘Hole In The Wall’ and ‘All Star Family Fortunes’. This year Gemma was nominated for the British Soap Awards ‘Sexiest Female’ category – obviously the self-confessed fitness fanatics’ gym work-outs have paid off.
Gemma is currently involved in a high profile storyline which has seen her get masses of column inches. The McQueen family remain firm favourites in the C4 hit soap and there are a number of exciting projects lined up for Gemma in 2011.
